Bro, a small fish can never be surfed the way you would surf a swallow or a performance. Which means this type of comparison it’s in no way realistic. Fishes are not meant to be reaped like performance boards, fishes are meant to go fast and flow with the wave. If you really try hard or have the skills you will eventually make it happen but they are not meant for it. So in the end, if you’re the kind of person that likes manoeuvres definitely don’t go for the GoF, if you like flow than it’s the perfect thing 🙌🏼 But great video!! You’re a great surfer congrats!! 🙌🏼❤️🔥

I want to take a vacation in California to learn how to surf. First question is where? Second question is, "Is 2 weeks enough time"? #3) What brands of boards should I look at buying?

I just want to know what to do when caught in the impact zone by a head high++ set. How to survive. What action to take to avoid getting roughed up or worse. I hate paddling out and usually end up ditching my board and swimming for it and getting dragged back by the leash.

Dumb question but is the sticky thing on top or under the board? How do you get a grip of the board to be able to turn it quickly? Is it the sticky thing? 😁Have at least nailed bodyboardsurfing which was a lot of fun

Wow I’ve spent so long riding longer boards just cuz I see myself as a kook and figured shorter boards weren’t for my skill level. I’d love to start trying some more board shapes. Living in Canada is frustrating for surfing😅

9:01 I did exactly that! From 40 ish liters to 35lts And it was easy to ride and move, BUT! It was still hard to duck dive.. so then I went down to a 29 liters shortboard and what a mistake! I can still ride it, and my positioning advanced a lot! But its too sensitive for my level. So right now Im searching for a 32 or 33 liter fish. Thanks for the video!

A common beginner mistake is paddling with the nose of the board sticking up super high. It’s impossible to get any speed or movement this way. To successfully paddle you need correct body positioning on the board. You want to lay down in a position so the nose is just above the water. If the nose is too high or too low it severely limits your ability to move.
